Wahoo and bullet mackerel
The majority of the illustrations I create for the Mid-Atlantic and New England teams are published within blog posts and focus primarily on forage and game species. My goal is to make these species relatable and accurate, if somewhat simplified. Stylistically, I aim for active composition–not “dead fish on a boat deck”, which is how many people are used to seeing these animals. I often spend a lot of time watching GoPro videos to get a sense of how they move and hunt as part of my research.
