Improving Food Safety from Farm to Fork
Preventing contamination in the food supply chain often requires a multi-pronged approach to proactively avoid outbreaks among livestock. I brainstormed with the client to decide on the most relatable aspects of the three intervention types and produced detailed icons I incorporated into an infographic and a cover/online promo image.
Navigating the Prescription Drug Landscape
This project started life as a mockup from the client that represented pharmaceutical industry money flow as bodies and channels of water. The process isn’t straightforward at all so the analogy was confusing. After a couple of rounds of sketches, I developed a diagram that simplifies the flow into payments and rebates and uses scale to allude to the relative amount of money each player contributes or receives. I later repurposed the elements for a cover illustration and social media graphics.
APIs in Health Care
Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs) are rife with usability issues and are technologically complex to understand. The goal of this infographic was to demonstrate how APIs could facilitate communication between different systems so patient data can be transferred from office to office, unlike the isolated systems the healthcare industry currently uses. Instead of a diagram, I chose to represent the information as a relatable scene supported by text call-outs so the information is more accessible to an audience who may not understand the inner workings of EHR programming.
Sin Tax Icons
This series of spot illustrations representing various vices ultimately never saw the light of day, but it remains one of my favorites. I was inspired by the mid-century block-printed wallpaper in my basement, which creates depth despite using a limited color palette.
